Simply designed, cost effective, robust Water Trucks...

There are many water truck manufacturers competing in the marketplace today, but they are often expensive and quite complex to maintain due to the "custom built" nature of construction.

Here at Water Carts Direct, we pride ourselves on building simply designed, robust water trucks that not only perform at least as well as our competitors, but have a lower purchase price, lower maintenance cost and are able to be repaired when damaged at minimal cost and downtime.

Although steel tanks have been popular in the past because of lower cost, Water Carts Direct can now offer Poly tanks at a lower price and the superior strength, corrosion resistance and ease of repair advantages of a fiberglass tank at no extra charge. Fiberglass tanks have been the accepted norm for many years when it comes to transporting liquid chemicals, so it is only natural that it would be the superior vessel for the transportation of water.

A demonstration unit is available for your inspection at any time, demonstrating the features of a Water Carts Direct water truck. Take a look at our Water Truck Demonstration video (3 minutes)

Below is the specification of our standard water truck fitted to a 14000 kg GVM chassis, the maximum 4x2 configuration road legal truck allowed.

The pipe delivers water across a 100 mm air gap before being funneled into the tank.

1.111 Lining Because of the poly construction of the tank, there is no need to line it. The advantages of Poly is it does not contaminate the water, doesn't corrode, is lightweight for extra payload, can be easily repaired and removal is very simple.

1.206 Mounting A steel sub frame supports pivot points at the rear and a sliding pin arrangement with heavy duty springs at the front to allow movement over un even ground. This eliminates the risk of tank fractures.

1.208 Access There is 1 manhole access point measuring 500 mm in diameter

1.209 Ladder A sturdy steel ladder is fitted to the front near side of the truck to allow access to the filling point of the tank.

1.210 Filling To comply with backflow prevention requirements, a galvanized steel 50 mm diameter filler pipe mounted on the nearside of the truck carries water from a cam lock coupling 1.5 meters above ground level to the top of the tank where a steel funnel is mounted. The pipe delivers water across a 100 mm air gap before being funneled into the tank.

1.211 Lining Because of the fiberglass construction of the tank, there is no need to line it. The advantage of fiberglass is that it does not contaminate the water, doesn't corrode, is easily repaired if damaged, removal is very simple and its biggest feature, it is very, very strong and not effected by heat up to 100 degrees Celsius.

1.212 Color White

1.213 Level Indicator A plastic tube is mounted to the front of the tank to indicate the level.

1.300 Steel

1.301 Capacity We can build your steel tank to any legal size you want.

1.308 Access There are 4 manhole access points each measuring 800 mm in diameter

1.309 Ladder A sturdy steel ladder (with hand rail) is fitted ton the front nearside of the truck to allow access to the filling point of the tank.

1.310 Filling To comply with backflow prevention requirements, a galvanized steel 50 mm diameter filler pipe mounted on the nearside of the truck carries water from a cam lock coupling 1.5 meters above ground level to the top of the tank where a steel funnel is mounted. The pipe delivers water across a 100 mm air gap before being funneled into the tank.

1.311 Lining A special epoxy coating is applied to the inside of the tank to avoid corrosion and water contamination.

1.312 Color The tank will be painted in two pack paint any color you require.

3.300 Pump A pull start firefighter pump is used to supply pressurized water to the hose reel. This allows the hose to be used without running the truck engine which would be expensive and detrimental to the truck engine with constant idling likely to glaze the bore of the engine.

3.301 Fuel Unleaded petrol

3.302 Power 5.5 HP

3.303 Pressure 60M of Head Pressure

3.304 Flow Rate 500 litres per minute (at MAX rev's)

4.101 Outlet 90 mm diameter galvanized pipe is used to route water from the tank to the sprayers.

4.102 Filler 50 mm diameter galvanized pipe

4.200 Sprayers There are 5 batter sprayers in total. 3 are mounted on the rear (Left, Middle and Right) and two are mounted on the front (Left, Right) which all can be switched on/off by air switches located inside the cab on a console conveniently located near the driver. Spray heads are easily adjusted by loosening the cam locks and rotating the sprayer to the desired angle. The exact location can be stipulated by the customer at the time of placing the order.

4.300 Dribble Bar Mounted so that it will move rather than be damaged when coming into contact with an obstruction, the dribble bar can discharge gravity fed or pressurized water and be controlled from within the cab from the same console as the batter sprays. Removable end caps make it easy to keep the bar clean internally and the engraved water outlets eliminate the use of troublesome individual screw in jets.
